MEET THE OWNER

Javondlynn M. Dunagan is the founder and CEO of JMD Defense, LLC located in Chicago, IL.  She retired as a US Probation Officer in January 2016 after a distinguished 25 year career.    As a  safety educator, Javondlynn is passionate about training professionals, businesses and non profit organizations in workplace safety and emergency operations procedures.  Javondlynn is also a Certified Firearm’s Instructor, Range Safety Officer and a Distinguished Expert Shooter with the NRA Marksmanship Program.  

The mission of JMD Defense, LLC is to empower our clientele to take responsibility for developing an ongoing proactive safety plan.  Our goal is to be recognized as a stellar defense business that provides exemplary customer service with a spirit of excellence and integrity. 

Javondlynn Dunagan is guided by her commitment to offering services to customers and clients with an uncompromising level of integrity.  She is considered a trailblazer in the firearm community and safety industry.  She has received several awards for empowering women in the area of safety education and responsible firearm ownership.  Her work has also been highlighted in radio and print media interviews.  

Javondlynn has been featured on NBC News With Carol Marin, Newsy, The Jim Jeffries Show, NRA TV and in Black Enterprise Magazine, Rolling Out Magazine, The Chicago Tribune, Daily Mail, and conducted several radio interviews.  She is a leading authority on safety education strategies.  

She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration. She also holds a Bachelor’s of Social Work Degree from Hampton University.  She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.  Javondlynn is also a Goldman Sachs 10KSB alumni member.
